Each player uses their own book as the main tool of investigation, selecting double page spreads and activating actions tied to different sections of the manuscript. These sections include botany, astrology, baths, writing, and recipes, each offering unique ways to gain insight and progress.

As players deepen their understanding, knowledge is shared with the group, gradually unlocking and deciphering pages within the book. This collective progress is essential, as newly revealed information grants access to stronger actions and powerful endgame scoring opportunities.
