Piñatas

Piñatas is a clever trick-taking card game designed by Dr. Reiner Knizia where timing is everything.

In each round, players compete to win tricks, but unlike most trick-taking games, you actually want to delay winning them. The goal is to take tricks later in the round rather than early.

The twist is that once a player wins three tricks, they are immediately out of the round and cannot play any more cards. Because of this, players must carefully manage when they win tricks so they do not exit too early.

At the end of the round, players score points based on how many tricks were won by all players at the table. This means the longer the round lasts before players are eliminated, the more points everyone can potentially earn.

With its simple rules but unusual scoring system, Piñatas delivers a strategic twist on traditional trick-taking, rewarding patience, timing, and clever card play.
