Light Speed: Arena

Light Speed: Arena is a real time tabletop shooter that blends fast paced tile placement with digital resolution. Players step into a futuristic combat arena filled with cheering crowds and glowing sponsor ads, choosing a faction and battling for fame, resources, and victory.

The game plays out in real time as players simultaneously place and aim their spaceship tiles on a shared battlefield. Positioning and orientation are critical, as ships can target enemy vehicles, mine valuable minerals from asteroids, impress powerful sponsors, or accidentally hit allies. Every placement matters and hesitation can cost valuable opportunities.

The match unfolds over a series of rapid rounds, with constant pressure and simultaneous decisions creating an intense and energetic atmosphere. Once all rounds are complete, players capture the battlefield with a smartphone using the companion app. The app simulates the battle, resolves all interactions, and calculates final scores based on combat results, resources collected, and sponsor objectives.

For groups who prefer an analog experience, scores can also be calculated manually using the optional Downgrade Pack.
